Foshan, Guangdong – A solar water heating project based on PVT technology has been successfully delivered to a maternity center in Foshan, Guangdong, adding a practical case study for renewable energy applications in the healthcare and wellness sector.

Sustainable Hot Water for Maternal Care
The project integrates a complete solar hot water system to meet the maternity center‘s round-the-clock demand for hygienic, constant-temperature hot water. The system is designed to support essential daily operations including patient bathing, infant care, facility cleaning, and personal hygiene – all powered by solar energy.
The system features 12 PVT modules and 12 solar panels as the core power and heat generation units, supported by a heat pump main unit, inverter and distribution box, energy storage battery, water tank, and an intelligent control system for fully automated operation. It delivers 5 tons of 50°C constant-temperature hot water daily – equivalent to a commercial-grade solar water heater – reliably meeting the maternity center‘s needs for bathing, cleaning, and personal hygiene. In addition, solar energy is self-consumed on site, with surplus electricity averaging 25 kWh per day available for other facility loads, ensuring full utilization of green power.

Key Benefits
High Efficiency
The system integrates solar water heating with heat pump technology to significantly reduce energy consumption. The PVT modules continuously remove heat from the photovoltaic cells during operation – for every 1°C drop in cell temperature, power generation efficiency increases by 0.30%, translating to more than 10% additional annual electricity output.
Green & Low-Carbon
All solar energy generated is consumed on-site, effectively lowering carbon emissions and reducing dependence on the grid. The system produces no direct carbon emissions during normal operation.
Stable & Reliable
Dual heat sources – solar energy and ambient air – ensure uninterrupted hot water supply in all weather conditions. The system delivers constant-temperature hot water on demand, meeting the high reliability standards required by healthcare facilities.
Smart Control
The fully automatic control system keeps operation and maintenance costs low. A smart energy management platform continuously optimizes system performance based on real-time conditions.

Advancing Renewable Energy in Healthcare
This project demonstrates the practical value of solar hot water technology in healthcare applications – integrating solar energy generation, thermal collection, and heat pump technology into a single system that delivers reliable energy supply while reducing operating costs and carbon emissions for the maternity center.
